On Saturday, the 4th of November, the students of Mushtifund Aryaans were privileged
to have had an Interactive Session with The Director-General of Police Goa, Mr Jaspal
Singh.
The lecture commenced with a warm welcome extended to Mr. Jaspal Singh by Sir VPD,
who acknowledged his rich experience and knowledge in the field of law enforcement
and spoke about Mr. Singh’s past stories of valour in the police force. What was
amazing in his diverse background was his academic brilliance as well as expertise in
business and law. Mr. Singh initiated the discourse by explaining the genesis of the
police force, their fundamental roles, and the significance of the Constitution in
structuring the state police force under the DGP’s leadership.

During the course of the lecture, Mr. Singh elaborated on three primary laws:
1.The Indian Penal Code, the 2.Code of Criminal Procedures, and the 3.Indian Evidence
Act. These laws, he explained, are instrumental in defining offenses, governing court
trials, and recognizing evidence in legal proceedings respectively.
Moreover, he emphasized the evolving nature of criminal activities in line with
technological advancements and highlighted the measures taken to combat
cybercrimes through the Information Technology Act. He also shed light on the state
government’s authority to enact legislations to adapt to changing criminal laws and the
police’s authorized use of mild force in extreme cases of mob violence.

Mr. Jaspal Singh concluded his enlightening talk by providing guidance on reporting
monetary fraud and online thefts to the police. He stressed the responsibility of the
youth to not only abide by the law but also educate others about its importance. The
DGP’s insights, experiences, and inspiring journey serve as a beacon for our aspirations.
He answered all the students’ questions wholeheartedly and patiently. A special
appreciation was also conveyed to Sir VPD for orchestrating such an invaluable session
with a prominent figure like Mr. Jaspal Singh.

In conclusion, the school expressed its immense gratitude and wished Mr. Jaspal Singh
continued success in all his future endeavours. The session was truly enriching and
