A guest lecture was organised with Vice Admiral Puneet Bahl as the speaker, a distinguished naval aviator and former Director General of the Seabird Project. His presence offered the students a rare opportunity to learn directly from someone with extensive experience in the Indian Navy. The session was held with the support of VPD Sir and the Aryaan administration.

The talk began with an explanation of the global importance of the seas, particularly in the context of international trade, mineral resources, fishing, and India’s strategic maritime location. Vice Admiral Bahl then provided an insightful overview of the different types of naval ships used in operations and traced the evolution of war technologies, highlighting key developments in naval equipment over time.

Students also learned about the use of cryptography, submarines, mines, and other traditional warfare tools, along with discussions on modern weaponry such as drones and missiles. The session further explored emerging possibilities enabled by artificial intelligence, hypersonic weapons, and satellite technology.

Vice Admiral Bahl emphasised India’s rich maritime heritage and charted the Indian Navy’s transformation into a modern and self-reliant force equipped with advanced indigenous technologies. He also shed light on the various challenges of maritime warfare, including natural disasters and piracy. Additionally, he familiarised students with the diverse branches and career opportunities within the Navy.

Towards the end, the students were given an insight into Operation Sindoor, gaining an understanding of the Navy’s logistical planning and involvement in the mission.

The session concluded with an engaging question–answer interaction, during which Vice Admiral Bahl addressed students’ queries with great enthusiasm. His talk left the audience informed, inspired, and deeply appreciative of the Navy’s role in national security.
