Like everything else, some people will be better at it than others. However, doing something creative is the most rewarding activity, and will result in a great sense of satisfaction. Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School, known for its unprecedented Academic records at the State and National Level, is a paramount of such great success because of its multi talented students who are capable to flourish in all fields, and the Grand Annual Social Gathering 2018 undoubtedly represents this fact.
29th December 2018 was a great day for the Director Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai, all the teaching and non teaching staff of the Institute and all the parents as the students of STD XI and XII Regular batch presented a showcase of creativity and talent on the event of the Annual Social Gathering. The event was graced with the presence of the chief Guest Mr. Prabhikar Bhide, the Chairman of Rajhauns Publications and the Guest of Honour Mr. Manguirish Salelkar, Director of Umang Software and two of our ex- students who have brought laurels to the Institute with their remarkable contribution were also present to grace this event, Pratheek Rebello & Ishan Shetye.
The Guests and audience were warmly greeted with a welcome dance and the event was then kick started with a war of words, the very special Aryaan’s Debate with the STD XI and XII at odds on the topic Artificial Intelligence. The speeches, rebuttals from the judge and audience and arguments presented by the debate contestants took the judges by surprise and left them in awe of the kind of knowledge, confidence and spontaneity showcased by the students.
Our Faculty member Dr. Ketan Sardessai was the Moderator for the debate.
The epic Fashion Show at Aryaan’s is worth a watch and the eager audience was not disappointed as the students of STD XI walked the ramp to the theme of Hit jodis of bollywood. From Devanand, Rajesh Khanna, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Batchan, Zeenat Aman, Saira Banu, Mumtaaz to the latest heroes and heroines like Shahrukh Khan, Salman, Katrina Kaif, Karishma Kapoor, Alia Bhat, Hrithik Roshan etc, our students mimicked their hook steps on some of the super hit numbers of these Bollywood Hit jodis!
They say that any kind of dancing is better than no dancing at all ! On this day it was not about how well the students did (which they did anyway) but it was also about the exhilarating feeling and rush of blood they felt while on stage after a months time of practice and turmoil.. Dance is surely one of the best ways to express oneself and the girls and boys of STD XI and XII did a fantabulous job at doing just that! The girls of STD XI competed with the boys on a medley of popular songs and the STD XII ( Enakshi Chatterjee & Avantika Jain ) girls gave a special dance performance and all the dances were truly a treat to watch!
The goal of an Institution is not only to increase the amount of knowledge, but also to create possibilities for its students to invent and discover their potential. The first time introduced Stand Up Comedy event represents this statement in its true sense. The Students of Std XI and XII got the audience into splits of laughter with their amusing and witty jokes and punches! ( Noah Martins, Arya Kare, Abhishek Pai Angle, Pranal Naik & Navin Shirodkar)
Our student of STD XII ( Gurudutt Kulkarni) presented a classical vocal recital and Atharv Desai presented a solo tabla performance. Aashna N.Kuncolienkar performed a drum solo mesmerising the crowd further! The students also showcased a live band performance and electrified the audience with their energy ! ( Navin Shirodkar: Drummer, Aditi Mascarenhas : Pianist, Nihal Da Rocha: Guitarist, Ian Lobo: Violinist, Singers: Kavish Priolkar, Siddhant Govekar, Vidula Dempo, Antash Misra, Tanu Kurade)
As rightly said that a show is hit because of 3 things: ENTERTAINMENT, Entertainment & entertainment, the Skit was a thorough proof of this statement! It was a no brainer full of twists and turns and perfect comical timing!
The show ended with the Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony. They say that everyone has inside them a piece of good news and Our Director Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai, never fails to acknowledge this spark! The entire batch of STD XII 2017 – 18 was felicitated for achieving their goal of getting into great Institutes be it in Goa or all over the country. The mementos ,trophies & medals were sponsored by the esteemed TJSB Bank. The toppers of this 2017 – 18 batch who did exceptionally well at the State and National Level were felicitated with cash prizes as well :
Aumkar K. Shah was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15,000/- while the other students : Rayne Cardozo, Aaman Rebello, Bhishek Garg, Himanshu Balasamntha, Ravindra Kudchadkar, Vaibhavi Gawas, Aman Malekar, Aaron Barretto, Tahir D’ Mello, Nilay Naik, Ishaan V.S. Kakodkar, Khushee Agnihotri, Siddhant Parekh & Aindri Tiwari were awarded a cash prize of Rs.10,000/- each by the Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai.
Special Prizes:
1) Ramnath Shetye Memorial Prize awarded to the student from MAHSS who secured the highest rank at JEE Advance and joins a recognised IIT – Himanshu Balasantha ( Rs. 2910/- interest earned on a FD of Rs. 40,000/-)
2) Sponsored by Mr. Dinar Bhatkar in the memory of his mother Lt. Radhabai Naik Bhatkar, interest earned on FD of Rs. 49,000/- awarded to a girl child in the current STD XII, topped in the STD XI NCERT examination – Suprada Bhat.
3) Kashinath Desai Memorial Prize awarded to the student who secured the highest marks in Mathematics at the Goa board examination – Aaron Barretto ( Rs. 1020/- interest earned on Rs.14,000/- for 1 year)

Apart from all these special prizes the Director took this opportunity to value and appreciate the efforts of all his staff members and hence felicitated all the Non teaching and teaching faculty with formal certificates and a voucher of Rs. 2000/- from Bombay Bazaar. The entire staff is ever so grateful to him for always encouraging them and giving them the right opportunities to fulfil their growth and potential in the Institution.

Our Director presented special cash prizes for the Annual Day Performances as well for appreciating the effort and talent of the students who had worked so hard to put up a great show like this one. Mr. Vinod Shirodkar, parent of our student sponsored Rs.25,000/-( twenty five thousand) for the cash prizes and also 600 bottles of water and cold drinks on the day of the Annual Day and the Director and the entire staff and students were deeply moved with this generosity and act of kindness.

They say that “Beyond talent lie all the usual words: discipline, love, luck – but most of all endurance.” I congratulate all the participants, who played a role on stage and back end, for working endlessly in doing their best. It is not about how good the show is , it is about the small wins, coming out of their comfort zones, trying something new, and bringing out the best with the whatever is made available and then shining like a star on D day with ease !

Message from the Director:
Annual Day 2018 of MAHSS was a big success. I must admit that this was probably the best ever annual day of MAHSS. All the events be it the debate, dances, fashion show, skit, band, stand up comedy or for that matter spot prizes were simply awesome and were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. I congratulate all the students and teaching and non teaching staff of MAHSS for the success of the annual day. However, I must thank one person profoundly without whom the annual day – for that matter all our annual days would never be so memorable and in the first place would not have been possible. That person is none other than Ms Hetal Gangani! She managed every event beautifully. The dances choreographed by her were a treat to watch and looked professional. And remember all this she did at a very short notice and also without sacrificing her administrative work. I really appreciate her for her diligence, self motivation, enthusiasm and also for her very effective way of working with students and bringing out the best in them.
