On the 23rd of November, Aryaans Institute hosted an online talk by Mr. Yashovardhan Jha Azad, retired IPS officer and former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau, on the topic “Growing Terror in India and Ways to Tackle It.”
The session aimed to make students aware of the changing nature of terrorism in India and the importance of staying informed in today’s world. Mr. Azad began by defining terrorism not only as physical violence but also as a psychological weapon designed to create fear in the minds of people. He explained how terrorism has evolved over the years, progressing from cross-border attacks to more complex digital and ideological warfare. With references to real incidents like the Parliament attack and the Red Fort attack, he highlighted the ground realities of national security.
The speaker stressed that youth must stay alert online, develop strong digital habits and learn to identify propaganda instead of getting influenced by it. He also mentioned how India is improving intelligence systems with modern methods including drone surveillance and smart border fencing. According to him, tackling terrorism requires not just technology but also unity, trust and support from the public. The session ended with a Q&A round where Mr. Azad answered every question patiently and clearly, ensuring that students understood the topic well.
Overall, the talk was informative, engaging and highly relevant, leaving students more aware of national security and their responsibility as responsible citizens.
