REPORT ON MR. NILESH AMONKER VISIT
THE TURNING POINT!
On the 21st July ‘16, Mr. Nilesh Amonker visited Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School for an interactive session with the students of STD XI. He was warmly welcomed by the Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai. Being an Engineer and businessman by Profession, the students expected him to talk about his professional life. But surprisingly, in the one hour interactive session, he actually transformed each and every student’s perspective and showed them their gateway to success!
The drastic transformation from a Cool Boy to a Cool Nerd was the result of a burning desire to own a Bike during his college days… Mr. Amonker believes that we all need or have an anchor that helps to keep us to stay focussed and grounded. His interesting, inspiring and informative presentation caught the students in rapt attention. He was in constant interaction with the students telling them some inspiring quotes and stories.
What’s Stopping You? A question posed by the very man who defied this, stunned the young crowd and got them thinking …It helped them to identify the mind blocks stopping them from achieving their goals. Steve Jobs, Dhirubhai Ambani, Oprah Winfrey, Einstein and many such successful personalities had problems in their childhood. But they got to where they are today because they dealt with the problems and din’t allow them to stop them from striving for what they wanted. And Mr. Amonker highlighted the inspirational stories of these people in his presentation very innovatively.
He spoke about 5 Golden Rules which will ensure the success of any person. We all need to find an Anchor, a purpose we can cling on to so that all our efforts are directed towards achieving that goal. Having no purpose would mean diving into a bottomless pit. It will get you nowhere. Secondly, we must have Self Belief – a strong sense of confidence, that we possess the capability to fulfil and achieve what we aimed for. We must Ban the Comfort Zone we get cosy in. It is very important that we move out if it and get acquainted with new aspects or arenas. Fourthly, Discipline is required to work on moving closer and closer to the goal set. Laziness is a disease which could creep in and destroy the system if Discipline is not maintained. And lastly, we all need support and encouragement from an outer source. Using Leverage can help one minimize the efforts and achieve the set goal better. These valuable guidelines provided by the enchanting story teller, helped the students understand the nuances of life and sent through them a thrill of good energy !
The interaction was coordinated by the Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai. Mr. Amonker constantly interacted with the students and they were left wondering about how their opinion about various topics was transformed within the span of an hour. He asked the students questions and every correct answer got a gift from him. By the end of it the students felt that Santa just paid them an early visit this year!
