It was a day of nervousness, excitement, fun and frolic for the students of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School on the event of their Institute’s Grand Social Annual Gathering.

On the 24th of December, the students of Mushtifund Aryaan higher Secondary School put on an annual day like no other. Mushtifund Aryaans is always synonymous with academics; but for this one day, they decided to be the jacks of all trades. Days worth of practice cumulated in a single day’s performance! The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Harshvardhan Bhatkuly, Editor Business Goa, Dr. Nikhil Varerkar, HOD Economics at Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Mr. Suhas Sardesai, Secretary Mushtifund Saunstha, Mr. Dilip Dharwadkar, Treasurer Mushtifund Saunstha and Mr. M.B.S. Kakodkar, Administrative Officer, M.A.H.S.S. The Director, M.A.H.S.S.Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai warmly welcomed all the dignitaries.

Known for multitasking, the students of M.A.H.S.S. had to manage and shuffle their time between the ongoing lectures and practice time and bring out the best in them in both areas. The zeal and enthusiasm with which they practiced day in and day out to put up a grand show was simply commendable!

The students of this Institute are a notch higher in all fields. They have won several laurels for the school in debate and quiz competitions and it was interesting to see how the students of STD XII and XI showcased their debating skills on the Annual day too. The debate was a total hit! The instrumental performance given by the band of musicians was soothing and audience thoroughly enjoyed their performance. The crowd was spontaneous and quick in response to the tricky questions asked for the fun spot prizes. The big dancing troupe high on energy, livened up the audience with their grooves and moves in their power packed performance. The boys too in their individual dance act made a great attempt to entertain their friends and family.

It was amazing to see how the students brought out the characters of real life in the skit. The concept the props and the comic timings were simply apt to get the crowd rolling with laughter!

Instead of doing a typical fashion show, the students brought out their creativity and a presented a theme walk. The unique way in which the costumes were made or rather created, represented the beauty of Science .The grand theme walk was a one to remember it simply mesmerized the audience and made them wanting for more…

The STD XII performance was a pleasant surprise to their parents, teachers and friends. The Gathering concluded with the much awaited Prize distribution ceremony. Looking at the number of trophies and cash prizes, it felt like Santa decided to visit M.A.H.S.S. before anyone else!

The Director, Mr. Prabhudesai appreciated the great performance given by the top five students of 2015 -16 batch the board and National level in all the entrance exams. The ex – students : Aditya Patki, Deepak Gopalan, Aby Jose, Manasi Paste and Aditya Kuncollienkar were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- ( twenty thousand) each for their exemplary performance in National level competitive exams. Aditya Patki was also awarded the Ramnath Shetye Memorial prize given for the student who secures an IIT JEE Advance rank and eventually join the IIT. Aby Jose, who is studying at IIT Roorkee, was awarded the Kashinath Naik Memorial Prize for scoring the highest in Physics and Chemistry XII Board examination, conducted by the Goa Board.

Mr. Prabhudesai appreciates the encouragement given to the students by TJSB Bank by sponsoring trophies for best performers. TJSB Bank sponsored the following trophies:
1) Student of the Year, Std XII , Pratheek Rebello
2) Super Student Award, Academics – Std XI PCM Himanshu Balasamanta
3) Super Student Award – Sdt XI PCB, Aumkar Shah
4) Most Talented Student Award – Std XI Prasad Padhye
5) Most Disciplined Student Award – Std XI, Vaibhavi Gawas.
Mr. Prabhudesai Instituted a trophy in the loving memory of his father, Lt. Digambar Damodar Prabhudesai, for the Most Disciplined Student, STD XII, which was awarded to Pratheek Rebello.

Mr. Prabhudesai appreciates the extended support given to encourage the students by Mr. Nilesh Amoncar, Businessman, who sponsored a grand trophy in the memory of his loving father, Digamber Sripada Shenvi Amonkar for the Most Talented Student, STD XII.

To promote and encourage the efforts of the students for putting up a great show, the Director, Mr. Prabhudesai gave out cash prizes for the best debate team ( Rs. 2000/-), Best group performance – Band( Rs. 4000/-), Best Theme Walk performance – Avantika Velho( Rs. 1500/-), Best Performance Dance – Rhea Chopra ( Rs. 1500/-), Best Performance Solo- Sahil Raikar ( Rs. 1000/-), Best Actor – Sahil Sen ( Rs. 500), Best Dance performance – Siddant Parekh ( Rs.500),A unique prize( Rs. 1000/-) was given to Kajol Amin for her creativity in designing a logo for the institute.

The Director had a special appreciation for the staff Ms. Hetal Gangani who not only single handedly worked with the students for almost 3 weeks but also participated in the annual day to put up some of the best performances for which she was awarded a special prize of Rs. 15,000/-.

The Annual Day came to an end just like the Year 2016 and with it ended all the imperfections and the trials. The students and audience welcomed the new year with a new zeal and a new found energy!
