Believe In Yourself, Listen To Your Gut & Do What You Love!

Mr.Juze Noronha, Chairman of GPSC, visited Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School, Panjim, on 21st April ‘ 16 for an interactive session with the students of STD XII. Speaking to the budding engineers, He started the interaction with an overview of how technology has impacted our life over the years. Speaking from his own experience from yester years, he said that the things which seemed to be a dream years ago is now happening at a click and all this is because of technology.

To motivate the students, Mr. Noronha based his power point presentation on Innovation. He discussed the success stories of various scientists and inventors like Albert Einstien, Steve Jobs and Richard Branson.  He spoke about how these people, who were actually dropouts from school became the essence of a new era in technology only because the conventional academic system did not have space for their new ideas, logic and creativity. Mr. Noronha also highlighted the role of teachers in the life of a student when he discussed the story of Richard Branson who was a dyslexic and how just by the motivation of a teacher got the confidence to do and become what he is today.

Mr. Noronha also discussed with the eager students, the young innovators of today. Giving examples of Flipkart , Red Bus.in, Zomato and Make my trip.com, he highlighted how these  people have climbed the stairs to success at such a young age.  He said that “IDEAS POP OUT OF A NECESSITY”.

In the question and answer interactive session, he confirmed that Goa has two incubation centres . He gave examples of Amarsh Chaturvedi, Raghunath Lohar and Oscar Nazareth and how they at a very young age dared to move out of their comfort zone and have succeeded by putting their ideas into practice.

Mr. Noronha highlighted the various opportunities in Public Service. He also told the students that the future lies in Environment. Giving a social message to the students, he said that we must all be responsible towards the environment no matter which field we choose. He said that Money is not the essence of life, we must love what we do.

He asked the students to follow the principles of Steve Jobs:

  • do what you love
  • put a dent in the universe
  • kick start your brain
  • sell dreams not products
  • say no to 1000 things
  • create an insanely great experience
  • master the message

Towards the end of the session, STD XII M.A.H.S.S. student Pratheek Rebello was awarded by the hands of Mr. Noronha a prize of Rs. 15,000 (fifteen thousand)  and a certificate for securing a record score of 98 % in the STD XI final exam  and also for performing exceedingly well in all the I.I.T. level internal exams conducted by the school. The entire interactive session was coordinated by the Director (M.A.H.S.S.) , Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with Mr. Noronha and were highly motivated by his insights on life.
