Desire.. Dream .. Vision….

Champions are not born, they are made….. And nobody really makes them…. Champions make themselves. So when DO you become a champion? Is it when you are comfortably making more money than you could ever use? Or is it when you use your wealth to uplift others and contribute to the Society?

This is a question that Mr. Sham Sundar Keshkamat, an income tax commissioner, beckoned the students of STD XI of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School to ask themselves when he spoke to them on the 15th of November,2017. The students were eager to hear him as he would speak about one of the most important aspects of living – Money! Mr. Keshkamat was warmly welcomed and formally introduced by the Director of the Institute, Mr.Vyankatesh Prabhudesai.

Mr. Keshkamat, a dignified and respected personality, conducted an informative session for the students, for about an hour, speaking to them on all sorts of monetary matters, ranging from a deconstruction of the taxation system in India, to the workings behind black money raids. He explained the what’s , why’s and how’s of income tax in considerable detail, going on to elaborate about his work, stressing, all the while,on how important it is to not be ignorant about taxation and always be faithful to the Motherland by paying due taxes. He broke down the processes behind cracking down on money launderers and black money holders, and the students listened in rapt attention as he went on to mention a few common techniques for money laundering practiced as of now!
The examination process to get into the Income Tax Dept.is extremely rigorous given by the fact that the all the posts related to it, directly or indirectly, call for a high sense of responsibility, integrity and loyalty towards the Nation. Mr. Keshkamat in brief gave the students an overview of the multiple rounds of assessment and tests one has to go through to make it to the prestigious dept.

Next came the question and answer session, which was entirely coordinated by the Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai and as you may guess, the questions came in thick and thin. Mr. Keshkamat was asked many a difficult question, but he put on a brave face and powered through them responding to each enthusiastically..
The session was ended with a warm vote of thanks by Me, a proud student of the Institute, and a final few words of advice by the speaker. By the end of the program, everyone was left wiser, and more aware of just how important it is to not shun one’s duties to the Nation.

You are the future of the country. Your contribution will be what facilitates the development of our Nation. So lets make sure to take the right decision!
